2024 so far has brought a whole new level to interior design, some back in with the old and others in with the new. The world of interior design is screaming with new ideas and innovative concepts that enhance and redefine our living spaces. So, if you are looking to simply update your decor or are planning on diving into a full home renovation, then these trends will inspire you to create an interior that fits your very own style.

1. Uniting Old & New Styles

Decorating your home with reclaimed and pre-loved furniture has become a growing trend — embracing the style of 70s decor with the new simplistic modern approach allows ones home to enhance a sense of authenticity with a touch of unique characteristic.

Historic pieces, such as the chesterfield sofas (as seen above) are being brought back into a new life, as we are seeing more of a unison of styles of the past with design trends of the present.

‘In interior design, the most captivating spaces are those that seamlessly blend the charm of the old with the innovation of the new. By harmonizing vintage elements with modern aesthetics, we create rooms that tell a story of timeless elegance and contemporary flair.’

2. Statement Lighting

Recently lighting has developed into a key feature when designing your home. Lighting is no longer just functional; its become a statement piece in itself.

Although functionality still plays such a huge role, lighting impacts the atmosphere, mood and appearance of ones home and how its placed plays a part is characterising an interior to fit ones personality.

As styles are adapting and peoples tastes are changing, ones home can determine a little about the person who designed it. Large oversized pendant lights, sculptural chandeliers, and unique floor lamps are being used to add drama and style into many interiors.

In 2024, it is becoming more and more apparent that lighting fixtures are becoming more artistic elements and focal points to a room.

3. Wall Designs

Often now in 2024 we see a key focus on sustainable designs, therefore trendy wall designs often incorporate textured materials, like reclaimed wood for wood panel designs (as seen above) or exposed brick, adding depth and character to living spaces.

However, in terms of being more subtle, there are many recent wall art designs that have been very effective within interior design, for example, photo collages, floating shelves and decorative mirrors, all of which offer aesthetically pleasing designs at a much more affordable rate.

Whether you are aiming for a more minimalistic look with a simplistic or effective approach, or a more eclectic style with various patterns and textures, well-designed walls can enhance the overall ambiance and stye of any interior.

4. Biophilic Design

| Bringing The Outdoors Inside |

Biophilic designs centre on creating spaces that foster a stronger connection with nature, where you expect to see more homes incorporating natural elements, such as more indoor plants, materials such as wood and stone, and large windows to maximise daylight.

This is where the natural world acts as a huge inspiration to ones colour palette for their home interior design. Creating a warm, relaxing environment from the beauty of the natural world.

‘Biophilic design bridges the gap between modern living and the natural world, fostering environments where humans can thrive by connecting with nature’s innate beauty and tranquillity.’

5. Texture Infused Designs

| Texture enhances creativity & self-expression |

Some may argue that an interior without texture creates a space that will fall flat. Texture is the perfect way to add depth and dimension to a space.

Bringing out the building original features is a great way of creating texture to a room, from ceilings to exposed brick walls. Or by layering different elements to create textures, from woven rugs and knitted throws to tactile wallpapers and textured paint finishes.

‘Texture within interior design breathes life into spaces, create depth and sensory richness that transform ordinary [once flat] rooms into extraordinary pieces.’
